Audrey, a friend of mine, asks me why I haven't been blogging. So I started to blog about Harold Lloyd and I didn't like where I was going with it. I thought a little more and I came up with something. There is a new video game based on the Left Behind books. The basis of the game, the way I understand it, is that the main player is in New York City after the rapture. I am not sure where this was made up, but it seems illogical and maybe dangerous.
Let's say you are a passenger in a car and you lead an exemplary life. For example, you go out of your way to make life a little better for someone less fortunate than you. The driver is a real ass and he would go out of his way to run down somebody's pet cat in his car. Except what makes him different from you is that he is part of that Christian cult, and so God zaps him off the face of the world into heaven. Meanwhile, you are left sitting in his car and you are heading straight into a semi which also is driverless.
Now to get back to the game. Your job, if you choose to accept it, is to convert as many people to join your cult as possible. If they don't see the light and they reject your cult, you have to kill them so you can save their souls from eternal damnation.
Now, doesn't this sound like another world religion where their goal is to either convert you or kill you to save your soul? That is what the basis for Islam is. But what is really horrible is that the game is rated for children to play. These types of people complain about the children's movie, "Happy Feet" with its LIBERAL message. And do you know what that message is? Global warming.
What message would you want to teach your children? To learn and care about the environment, or to believe that everybody needs to be Christian and everybody else is going to hell? Your choice.
